Welcome to my portfolio of images selected from my photo shoots from the Flinders Ranges. Here I am in front of the Stockman's Quarters cabin in Blinman in which I stay. Simple it is, but with the bush at my doorstep, the wind and occasional rain, the heat and cold and the occasional curious kangaroo or emu I am happy for the duration.
This is a region around 500kms north of Adelaide and one that I have visited regularly and come to know well. 'Arid wastelands' was a term used by the first colonial government to describe the Ranges north of Adelaide and beyond. The Flinders Ranges have a variable climate that is for sure, but desert wasteland it is not. My images tell a story about nature’s differing faces when set against the background of the ancient worn down ranges. They divide roughly between middle and northern ranges, that is the famous central gorges and then Arkaroola and surrounds in the far north.
I wish to thank the Anyamathanha people for access to their lands, and the management of Oratunga Station, as well as the people of Nipapanha where I stayed and took shots of the Gammon Ranges nearby.
I also wish to thank the Arkaroola management for access in photographing Acacia ridge.
I print images on high quality cotton rag paper with archival inks, in limited editions. They are printed on a matt paper with a slight texture and can be shown behind glass or sealed and presented as you wish.
If you are looking for high quality limited edition photographs which reflect the beauty of the Australian outback please consider the works in the home page folders below. Prints are available in a range of sizes, medium and extra large, and selected images as panoramas, framed or unframed. Enquiries by phone or email are welcome. I also license my digital files.
